In June of 2016, my wife and I transformed the lower level of our two-flat into a short-term rental space. It was a lot of work to get the place to a point where we felt satisfied with it being a home away from home for people visiting Chicago (many for the first time). We tried to think of every amenity we enjoy when we travel as a family and we also wanted to achieve an engaging but comfortable aesthetic that would make the space fun and cozy.
